He was born in Erdemli-Mersin in 1954, graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Pharmacy in 1976. Completed PhD in Pharmaceutical Toxicology in 1982 and studied at the Michigan State University as a post doctoral fellowship during the period of 1984 to 1986. Gained associated professor and professor title respectively 1991 and 2006. He worked at the Gulhane Military Medical Faculty at Analytical Toxicology Department (1988 to 2005) and at the Mersin University Faculty of Pharmacy at the department of Pharmaceutical Toxicology (2006 to 2011). He served as a dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, Mersin University (2008 to 2011). Since 2011, he is working as a full-time Professor at Near East University, Faculty of Pharmacy, at the department of Toxicology. His interested research areas are mainly Clinical Toxicology, Environmental Toxicology, Alcohol, Doping Substances, Toxix Heavy Metals and Genotoxicity.
