Scientific Study Areas

Department of Pharmaceutical Microbiology at Near East University was established in 2018 and is one of the departments of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pharmaceutical Microbiology studies the structure of microorganisms that cause infection in humans, diseases caused by these microorganisms, pathogenicity and the microbiological methods used for diagnosis. Pharmaceutical Microbiology is also interested in antimicrobial agents, research and production of microbial secondary metabolites, antimicrobial resistance, rational use of antibiotics, sterilization techniques for pharmaceutical products and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) are examined.
